About the Internship
This is a ten-week program designed to fully immerse you in the day-to-day activities of one of our divisions.
Orientation and Training
The program starts with an orientation where you’ll learn about our culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of Goldman Sachs. You will also receive division-specific training designed to help you succeed in your division.
Your Day to Day
After training, you will receive real responsibilities to give you a sense of what you would be doing, day to day, as a full-time Goldman Sachs employee. Along with fellow interns, you will work alongside leaders within our industry. Successful Summer Associates may be invited back to join our New Associate program in a full time position.
About the Risk Division
The Risk division develops comprehensive processes to monitor, assess and manage the risk of expected and unexpected events that may have an adverse impact on the firm. Risk teams play a critical function for the firm, driving how the firm takes and manages risk. Risk professionals execute critical day-to-day risk management activities, lead projects and contribute to the ongoing advancement of a robust risk management program. Effective coordination with executive management, business units, control departments and technology is critical for success.
We are at the forefront of the most recent engineering solutions, including cloud computing and big data, to better manage compute costs for the firm given increasing demands related to asset pricing and scenario generation.
How We’re Organised
Credit Risk: Credit Risk assesses the creditworthiness and financial strength of clients to determine acceptable levels of credit exposure.
Enterprise Risk Management: Enterprise Risk Management coordinates the planning, organizing, leading and controlling of activities to minimize the effects of risk on capital and earnings.
Liquidity Risk: Liquidity Risk controls and oversees the firm’s liquidity risk management framework, including stress testing and limit governance.
Maket Risk: Market Risk accesses, monitors and manages the firm's risk due to changes in the market conditions.
Model Risk Management: Model Risk Management ensures independent controls around the development, implementation and usage of models with the intent of minimizing model risks.
Operational Risk: Operational Risk focuses on the development and implementation of risk assessment frameworks designed to identifiy, measure, monitor and manage risk exposures associated with systems, people, processes and external events.
Eingineering: Engineering is at the critical centre of our businesses. Our engineers are solving challenging problems using innovative strategic thinking and the latest technologies.
