About the Internship 

This is a ten-week program designed to fully immerse you in the day-to-day activities of one of our divisions.

Orientation and Training
The program starts with an orientation where you’ll learn about our culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of Goldman Sachs. You will also receive division-specific training designed to help you succeed in your division.

Your Day to Day
After training, you will receive real responsibilities to give you a sense of what you would be doing, day to day, as a full-time Goldman Sachs employee. Along with fellow interns, you will work alongside leaders within our industry. Successful Summer Associates may be invited back to join our New Associate program in a full time position.

About the Executive Office 

The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm’s relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that our own people remain informed about the firm’s evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm’s social and sustainability agendas.

Alumni Relations: The Alumni Relations Team works to strengthen the firm’s relationships with former employees of Goldman Sachs.

Conflicts Resolution Group: The Conflicts Resolution Group evaluates advisory, financing, principal investing, lending and other activities to identify actual or perceived conflicts of interest.

Corporate Communications: Corporate communications seeks to enhance and protect Goldman Sachs’ culture, brand and reputation by communicating the firm’s strategy and priorities. The team comprises Brand and Content Strategy, Internal Communications and Media Relations.

Sustainable Finance Group: The Sustainable Finance Group is responsible for partnering with the firm’s businesses to drive sustainability-related commercial activity. This includes helping to deliver leading expertise and capabilities to our clients across sustainable growth themes, and driving innovation. The Sustainable Finance Group also engages with the firm’s people and many of the firm’s external stakeholders on sustainability. 

Firmwide Strategy: The Firmwide Strategy Group reports to the firm’s Chief Strategy Officer and works with firm and divisional leadership to set and execute key strategic priorities for the firm. The group evaluates plans for new businesses and growth initiatives and leads strategic transactions on behalf of the firm.

Government Affairs: The Office of Government Affairs promotes constructive relations with governments and regulators, and advances a public policy agenda to benefit the firm.

Investor Relations: Investor Relations engages with current and potential shareholders, debt investors, research analysts, rating agencies and corporate governance constituents, and supports the firm’s disclosure processes. 

Office of the Chairman and Client Strategy Group: The office of the Chairman oversees internal and external key strategic initiatives across the firm, including Goldman Sachs’ communications and investor, government, community and client engagement. Within the Office of the Chairman, the Client Strategy Group works closely with Goldman Sachs executives to prioritise and organise their interactions in support of these initiatives.

Office of Corporate Engagement: The Office of Corporate Engagement leverages our capital, people and innovations to help address economic and societal challenges, catalyze markets and transform communities. 

Pine Street: Pine Street prepares partners and selects managing directors to lead the firm’s next generation of people and businesses, and to advance the firm’s culture.

Who We Look For

We look for people from all academic backgrounds with strong relationship building skills, written and oral communication skills, as well as analytical and quantitative skills. Equally important is being a self-starter and having the ability to review and synthesize information, as well as form independent judgments.
