About the Summer Analyst Internship Programme

This is a ten-week programme designed to fully immerse you in the day-today activities of one of Goldman Sachs' divisions. The programme starts with a firmwide orientation where you’ll learn about their culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of Goldman Sachs. You will also receive division-specific training designed to help you succeed in your division.

After training, you will receive real responsibilities to give you a sense of what you would be doing, day to day, as a full-time Goldman Sachs employee. Along with fellow interns, you will work alongside leaders within the industry. Successful Summer Analysts may be invited back to join the New Analyst programme in a full time position.

About the Investment Management Division

Investment Management works with clients, from individual investors to large financial institutions, to develop advanced portfolio management strategies to help them achieve specific goals for their own or their institution's financial future.

Investment Management teams:

  • Develop and manage customized investment portfolios and discretionary funds for institutions, corporations, pension funds, governments, foundations and individuals in countries around the world
  • Design and manage families of mutual funds
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with institutional and high-net-worth individual investors and their consultants
  • Manage relationships with investors and provide a full range of reporting and accounting services
  • Work closely with professionals in other divisions of Goldman Sachs to develop new client relationships and to create new products

Investment Management consists of two major global businesses: Private Wealth Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Private Wealth Management secures, develops and manages relationships with high net worth individuals, their families, family offices and foundations. PWM helps clients by building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation within the context of each client’s particular risk tolerance and providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services, including private banking and trust company services.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management delivers innovative investment solutions through a global, multi-product platform that offers clients the advantages that come with working with a large firm, while maintaining the benefits of a boutique. Distribution teams market Goldman Sachs Asset Management investment products and services to institutions and, through third party channels, to markets around the world.

The goals of the summer internship are to provide participants with a broad overview of the Investment Management Division, its businesses and its clients. You will participate in an exciting and challenging experience that will allow you to build a network of strong relationships throughout the firm. Each 10-week summer programme includes extensive training, project work and activities to assist summer analysts and associates in meeting these goals.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management looks for individuals who can balance competition and teamwork, have intensity and integrity, intellectual curiosity, leadership potential, and a passion for excellence. In return, they can offer you an internship with real responsibility, outstanding training and the chance to learn from the best.
