About Goldman Sachs

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals. Founded in 1869, the firm is headquartered in New York and maintains offices in all major financial centres around the world.

About the Summer Analyst Internship Programme

This is a ten-week programme designed to fully immerse you in the day-today activities of one of Goldman Sachs' divisions. The programme starts with a firmwide orientation where you’ll learn about their culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of Goldman Sachs. You will also receive division-specific training designed to help you succeed in your division.

After training, you will receive real responsibilities to give you a sense of what you would be doing, day to day, as a full-time Goldman Sachs employee. Along with fellow interns, you will work alongside leaders within the industry. Successful Summer Analysts may be invited back to join the New Analyst programme in a full time position.

About the Global Compliance Division

The Global Compliance division is dedicated to protecting the reputation of the firm and managing risk across all business areas.

Working closely with each business, our professionals interpret and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and determine how the firm can appropriately pursue global market opportunities. They monitor regulatory trends and changes in all jurisdictions in which the firm does business, and they share information and collaborate with regulators to manage financial market risk.

Global Compliance is organized broadly into divisional compliance groups, which are embedded into the areas they support, and centralized compliance groups, which survey risks and manage regulatory affairs, services and resources related to all businesses and employees of the firm globally. These centralised groups include:

  • Compliance Surveillance Strategy Group is comprised of the Anti-Money Laundering/Suspicious Activities Group, E-Communications Compliance and Global Surveillance
  • Control Compliance is comprised of the Control Room, Compliance Chaperones, Regulatory Reporting and Compliance Employee Services
  • Global Compliance Testing
  • Regulatory Audits and Inquiries
  • Global Compliance Training
  • Bank Holding Company Compliance

The Global Compliance Division looks for analytical and detail-oriented individuals with excellent project management skills and a keen interest in financial markets, products, and securities laws and regulations. Their team-based culture also values strong communication and interpersonal skills, sound judgment, curiosity, and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
