About the Programme

Financial services regulation is constantly changing, impacting the way in which we regulate.To support this, we deliver a large and varied portfolio of change programmes, implementing new regulatory directives and the required information technology services.
Within the Technology and Change Graduate Programme you’ll help manage the impact of such change on the organisation, its processes and people.You’ll be aligned to one of our three Communities of Practice; Architecture and Operations, Change or Technology Delivery where you’ll benefit from rotations across your chosen discipline and an internal secondment to a different Community of Practice or Division within the FCA.
Our architecture and analysis experts structure our systems. If you join our Architecture and Operations Community of Practice you’ll work across a range of disciplines that underpin the strategic and operational management of our Business & Technology Solutionsdivision. These disciplines include strategic planning, architecture roadmap development, supplier management, design governance, financial management, resource planning and the divisional risk and control framework. The rotations will provide you with the opportunity to gain a holistic view of the management and leadership of the whole Business & Technology Solutionsdivision, turning strategy into operational delivery.
Our Change colleagues are responsible for planning change, and providing a pragmatic and collaborative approach to delivery. The Change Community of Practice offers you the opportunity to work across a range of disciplines within Change including Project Management, Project Management Office, Portfolio Management, Business Change and Business Analysis. In the second half of the graduate programme you’ll have the opportunity to specialise in a Change discipline and work towards gaining relevant qualifications/accreditations.
Our Technology and Delivery specialists design and test our technology solutions as well as maintain and protect our IT services and systems.The Technology Delivery Community of Practice is segmented into three broad practices covering service and monitoring, agile product management and software engineering. Exposure to these disciplines will provide you with the opportunity to gain an understanding of how technology products are made, delivered and managed at scale in an organisation.
The graduate programme will also provide you with the opportunity to learn from experts through the Community of Practice coaching and mentoring programme.In addition, you’ll also work on Community of Practice initiatives and events to give you a leading role in building cross-practice communities of interest.
What We Look For
To meet our eligibility requirements, you’ll need to have obtained a 2:1 degree or above and whilst we’re flexible about your type of degree, you’ll need to demonstrate a passion for technology and change.
Throughout the programme you’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of business areas working to ensure the solutions to complex business problems drivechange and support the FCA’s mission. You’ll need to be analytical, commercially-minded and customer-focused to thrive in this dynamic environment. And, as the challenges are multifaceted, working collaboratively across teams is a must.
Learning & Development
Whilst you’ll benefit from diverse work-based experiences, the graduate programme will also provide the opportunity to gain relevant qualifications such as TOGAF 9.2 and COBIT 5.discipline or Prince 2, PROSCI.
