EmployAbility is the not-for-profit organisation dedicated to assisting people with all disabilities into employment. Working with anyone with a disability, with a primary focus on university undergraduates and graduates, we have strong links with universities and other key stakeholders across the UK.
Abilitynet - a charity that provides advice about computer technology for disabled people. Able Magazine Able Magazine (formerly Disability View) is published bimonthly and "highlights and promotes lifestyle issues important to disabled people in the UK today". ADP - The Association of Disabled Professionals provides employment advice, information and peer support to many disabled people. Members also give advice on their particular employment or experience. Our other main area of activity is Parliamentary, where we work to ensure that legislation affecting the lives of disabled people takes their needs and aspirations into account. Arberry Profile -The Arberry Profile is co-written by students, for students and features editorial that addresses issues at the heart of disability and employment. Within the magazine, you will find excellent careers opportunities with blue chip companies, government organisations and the public sector, who all recognise the importance and value of recruiting from the full talent-pool of graduates. The Arberry Profile is published twice a year in the autumn and spring and is free to all students and student organisations. Print and digital editions are available. Blind in Business - a small charity based in the City of London, helps young blind students to develop the confidence to think about further education and perhaps University to lead them to good careers. Their Training Service helps blind graduates towards good jobs through their Employment Service. British Computer Association of the Blind - a self-help group of visually impaired computer professionals and users, founded in 1969, concerned with the use of Information Technology by the blind in education. British Deaf Association (BDA) - a charity focusing upon all aspects of hearing impairment. Centre for Disability Studies - located at the University of Leeds, UK. Churchill, Minty and Friend - (formerly known as Churchill and Friend) is acknowledged as a leading authority on disability and diversity issues. Unlike other consultancies, Churchill, Minty and Friend concentrates on custom solutions, rather than 'off the shelf' remedies. Directenquiries - the Nationwide Access Register, is the premier source of access information about shops, businesses and the London Underground. There is detailed information for each location including everything from parking, entrances, lifts, toilets, counter heights, wheelchair and pushchair access to staff assistance and auxiliary aids. such as Braille, large print and induction loops. Directgov - a guide to all public services for disabled people in one place including advice on looking for work, support while in work, work schemes and programmes and your employment rights. Disability Alliance - a valuable source of advice, information, publications, research and training. Disability North - working throughout the North East of England offering free and confidential services to disabled people of any age including children and older people. Disability Rights Commission (DRC) - an independent body established in April 2000 to stop discrimination and promote equality of opportunity for disabled people. Their goal is "a society where all disabled people can participate fully as equal citizens". Disability Now magazine - DN online, the website for the UK's biggest selling disability related newspaper. Disabled Workers Co-operative - a registered charity that helps disabled people to help themselves. Aims to raise the independence of disabled people by enabling them to take an active role in the economy and achieve a greater sense of self-worth and also to raise awareness of the contribution that disabled people can make to society. Diversity Milkround - The graduate employment site aimed at breaking down barriers. Bringing you details of graduate vacancies with leading employers - all of whom are champions of diversity. Dyslexia Action - a national charity and the UK's leading provider of services and support for people with dyslexia and literacy difficulties. Focus On Disability - "The gateway to services in the UK" - Forums, Information, Contacts. Foundation for Assistive Technology (FAST) - an organisation which works with users of assistive technology to maximise their independence. Gradjobs - publish Gradjobs magazine and host the National Graduate Recruitment Exhibition where EmployAbility annually exhibit. Graduate Prospects - The UK's official graduate careers website with a proven pedigree and track record and history. Hobsons - Hobsons is the only organisation that brings people together globally, regionally and locally, uniting the education and corporate worlds, through every level of education. Independent Living - offers free information to people regarding independent living including a free jobsearch facility. Leonard Cheshire Foundation - A worldwide campaigning disability organisation. National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) - Promoting, supporting and developing quality work experience. Prospects - The National Autistic Society employment and training service for people with autism and Asperger syndrome who wish to work. Queen Elizabeth Foundation for Disabled People - encourages and enables adults with disabilities to increase independence and improve life skills. RADAR - Information, advice and discussion on civil rights, employment, housing and benefits. RNIB - A major resource for the visually impaired. RNID - The Royal National Institute for Deaf People, the largest charity representing the 8.9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK. SCOPE - a nationwide organisation supporting people with cerebral palsy, including children. SKILL - National Bureau for Students with Disabilities. A national charity promoting opportunities for young people and adults with any kind of disability.
