Shell Assessed Internships in Business:

Lasting typically 10-12 weeks, their internships involve you in live projects specifically matched to your interests and abilities. This is not just work experience - this is working for Shell, in real teams, alongside true professionals.

You receive regular and structured performance evaluation from your mentor and direct supervisor, and find out what the energy industry is really like, from the inside.

Projects vary from year to year but occur within a number of corporate functions including:

  • Contracting & Procurement
  • Finance
  • HR
  •  IT

The Assessed Internships Shell offer in the technical functions can lead to a potential place on their Graduate Programme.

Rewards and benefits include:

  • A real project with a significant level of business impact
  • A structured programme designed to provide opportunities for learning
  • Working for a globally recognized brand tackling globally significant challenges
  • Min of £19,000 (pro rata)

How to apply

The Shell Assessed Internships are suitable for undergraduates in their penultimate year of study. They regularly accept students from a range of Business, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering/Science courses into their corporate Internship roles.

Candidates should apply through EmployAbility first. They should then submit an application to Shell at http://www.shell.co.uk/graduates.  When asked about how they heard about Shell select ‘Other’ and then type EmployAbility in the free text.

The application process for their graduate programmes is rigorous, but is designed to enable the most talented graduates to stand out.  After submitting an online application, you will be invited to complete our online assessments. Successful candidates are invited to a telephone interview. You’ll follow the same rigorous application process as graduates, but your Internship will replace the Shell Recruitment Day as your final assessment.

Through this process we will be assessing candidates’:

  • Capacity – the intellectual ability to analyse and apply unfamiliar information to complex situations.
  • Achievement – the ability to identify and manage resources in order to deliver results.
  • Relationship-building – the ability to work within, and lead, diverse teams

If you have any extenuating circumstances or require further information about the Internship programme, please contact Rebecca Williams on +44 (0)7766 363 666 or email info@employ-ability.org.uk

This programme is now closed for applications.
