About Morgan Stanley

Morgan Stanley has earned recognition as a leader in financial services as one of the most admired companies in the industry. Since it was founded in 1935, Morgan Stanley and its people have helped redefine the meaning of financial services. The firm has continually broken new ground in advising clients on strategic transactions, in pioneering the global expansion of finance and capital markets, and in providing new opportunities for individual and institutional investors.

Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing Division

As part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), Real Estate Investing (REI) leverages the expertise, relationships and franchise of the Firm. Its professionals around the world provide acquisition as well as finance and asset management services, covering investments across the risk/return and geographic spectrums. These include Class A core buildings in major metropolitan areas, residential development properties, and real estate management and operating companies in both emerging and developed markets.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          The Internship

Internships vary in length depending on business needs and candidate availability, but the Programme typically runs for 10 weeks with extensive training, networking and various hands-on opportunities. Summer Analysts gain both business and organizational knowledge while interacting with colleagues and working on assignment, attending social and professional events to network and learn about the different roles within MSIM. Each Summer Analyst is placed within a team and assigned a manager who provides guidance and mentoring.

The Training Programme

London-based training begins in June with one week of intensive classroom training, including an introduction to Morgan Stanley followed by specific REI training. Throughout the internship you will be exposed to business speakers and practical sessions as you continue to become familiar with the asset management industry.
