EmployAbility is delighted to be working with JP Morgan to offer disabled students and graduates the opportunity to apply for the J.P. Morgan EmployAbility Internship programme.

If you are ambitious and looking to apply what you’ve learned to real-world financial experience, then this is the role for you. In ever-changing global markets you’ll spend the summer exploring the sophisticated financial solutions we deliver across asset classes. The skills you develop and the professional network you build will serve as a solid foundation for your career.

What you can expect

It begins in London with five days of orientation and training. Expert instructors and J.P. Morgan professionals will teach you about our history, the scale and scope of our organisation today and our ambitious plans for tomorrow. We’ll teach you technical and practical skills that will help you soar as a Summer Analyst in Sales, Trading or Research.

Throughout the summer, you’ll support senior colleagues with important research, analysis and preparatory work. You will monitor markets, develop trade ideas, conduct portfolio reviews, and attend deal meetings to interact with clients firsthand. Your work and contributions will be valuable to the team from the start.

In addition to our enhanced and rigorous markets training at the start of the program, your mentors will advise and support you throughout the summer. Plus you’ll be invited to our speaker series and a host of other interesting events, designed to give you with a better understanding of products and the markets. Based on your individual achievements you may have the opportunity to join us full-time following your graduation.

What you need to bring

A strong interest in global financial markets is essential, as are analytical and quantitative skills, flexibility, teamwork, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle pressure and enjoy a collaborative environment. Academic excellence is a must, you must have an expected degree minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent (results to date should clearly demonstrate that this is a realistic indication).

Additional requirements include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence and initiative to take on responsibility and manage your own projects.
  • A strong ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

But beyond that, what we’re most interested in are the things that make you, you: the personal qualities, outside interests and achievements beyond academia that demonstrate the kind of person you are and the difference you could bring to the team.

Successful candidates are hired directly onto J.P. Morgan’s Internship programme within a specific division and participate in every aspect of that division’s Internship programme.
