The role: Financial Analyst Intern

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. Google team of Financial Analysts foster the financial health of the organisation by partnering closely with Google various functions, tracking performance metrics and creating financial models. You will be a well-rounded top performer who can be a key contributor as a Financial Analyst Intern in a high energy growth environment. Your application should indicate that you are a top academic performer with a wide variety of extracurricular interests and the desire to excel in everything you do. You should be a self starter with a high degree of analytical rigour. You should be able to “crunch the numbers” one minute and critically think through strategic issues the next.

Responsibilities:

  • Scale and automate core functions of the group, such as performance tracking and revenue.
  • Execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that translates data into actionable insights.
  • Partner with internal customers to prepare quarterly, annual or interim forecasts.
  • Act as a liaison between the core Finance teams and the Sales/Ops teams, assisting with range of operating issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • To be eligible, you need to return to full-time education for at least 3 months after the internship. Priority will be given to applicants graduating late 2012 or during 2013.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills plus demonstrated capacity for understanding strategy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment.
  • Experience with financial modeling.
  • Experience with database maniplulation (e.g. Excel, Oracle, Hyperion, Access).
  • Strong experience writing SQL queries and pulling data from regional databases.
