The Goldman Sachs EmployAbility internships give students with disabilities the opportunity to obtain invaluable work experience and gain insights into the industry.
EmployAbility is the not-for-profit organisation that facilitates and manages the selection and recruitment for disability inclusive employers seeking to attract and recruit disabled people onto internships, graduate programmes and other permanent roles.
The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high-net-worth individuals.
There are a number of different stages during your career when you can consider joining Goldman Sachs. We offer a variety of internships to students who want jobs with real responsibility, outstanding training and the chance to learn from the best. As an intern, you will gain valuable work experience at the firm while developing and demonstrating your skills in the financial industry.
What we look for
Academic discipline is less important than the personal qualities an individual brings with them, however a strong interest in and appreciation of finance is important. Whatever your background, it is intellect, personality and zest for life that the firm values the most.
Goldman Sachs’ ability to meet challenges and ensure the firm’s success in the future depends on attracting and retaining the highest quality people and the firm makes an unusual effort to identify the best person for every job. We evaluate candidates on six core measures – achievement, leadership, commercial focus, analytical thinking, teamwork and the ability to make an impact. The firm expects commitment, enthusiasm and drive from its employees but in return, offers unparalleled exposure, early responsibility, significant rewards and unlimited career opportunities.
Summer Analyst Programme
Our Technology Summer Analyst Programme runs for 10 weeks and is ideally for students in their penultimate year of study. As a Summer Analyst you will join one of our many Technology groups, working on real life, challenging projects within a supportive team environment.
Work Placement Programme
Our Work Placement Programmes run for either a 6 or 12 month period and are located in London. As a Work Placement student you are assigned to a specific team within the Technology division and will work on a wide variety of technical and business projects. Given that you are with us for a longer period of time you will have the opportunity to further increase your responsibility and build strong networks.
Both the Summer Analyst and Work Placement Programmes provide a broad based social and professional development programme. Like all others joining the firm, you will participate in a firmwide orientation session that will introduce you to the firm’s culture and business principles as well as provide you with the opportunity to network with peers from across the firm. The large part of your technical training will be acquired from the projects undertaken in your specifically assigned team. However, we also provide some additional technical training courses in the early stages to complement this. During the course of your time with us you will also benefit from other support and development mechanisms that we have in place, which include a structured 360° review process and a formal mentor and buddy programme.
