About Integrated Supply and Trading (IST)
Integrated Supply and Trading (IST) is a group function that forms a link between BP's oil and gas producing businesses, and its refineries and markets.
The purpose of IST is to enhance BP group value through the application of distinctive supply, trading, risk management and information technology skills underpinned by a strong compliance and control environment.
It undertakes the following:
- Markets BP’s equity crude oil, NGLs and natural gas
- Offers risk management products to third parties
- Works with each business segment to enhance business value
- Imports crude oil and other feedstocks for the refinery system
- Imports products to meet marketing demand
- Exports finished products and components to maximise refinery margins
- Generates entrepreneurial trading income
- Manages BP’s forex requirements, debt position and share buybacks
