The Barclays EmployAbility Summer Internship 2007

About Us

Over our 300 year history, Barclays has grown to become one of the world's largest global financial organisations. Active in more than 60 countries, our main services today are banking, investment banking and investment management services. Our 78,800 staff look after more than 20 million customers around the world.

Our long-term goal is to be a globally admired financial services organisation, recognised for innovation and customer focus. However, success doesn't just manifest itself on the balance sheet, but also in the wider community. Which is why as one of the UK 's top five corporate sponsors, we devote 1% of our pre-tax profits to key environmental, social and ethical projects.

Summer Internship Programme

Barclays, in partnership with EmployAbility is offering you the opportunity to join the Summer Internship Programme for students/graduates with disabilities. EmployAbility is a not for profit organisation that facilitates and manages the recruitment and selection of people with disabilities seeking internships and full time work.

The Summer Internship Programme (SIP) is ideal for students interested in combining genuine commercial experience with an understanding of what it would be like to join Barclays when they graduate.

You’ll spend eight weeks working with Barclays over the summer, you will be given a fantastic opportunity to work on a live project. You could be within a customer facing role or working with an internal team - either way, you'll learn a great deal about what it’s really like to work within Barclays.

Through the SIP you'll gain an understanding of the skills and capability required to reach the top positions in Barclays.

Closing date: 31st December 2006.

Note: this programme is not available to first year students.
